We have been in our new house a little over 4 years. I did my due diligence quite extensively before I decided on a dumbwaiter and made my choice for the Powerlift Dumbwaiter. 

This was a choice we do not regret. It was easy to install, provided great, easy to follow instructions. Laid it on [the] garage floor and went from there, now it helps to have a good builder to build [a] chute. For the money in my opinion it was a great buy and we are very satisfied. Our dumbwaiter works great and all our visitors think it is a really unique feature in our house.

We have dining room access for pantry items heading to the basement that are stored just to the left of the dumbwaiter and bathroom access for dirty laundry heading to the laundry room just to the right of the dumbwaiter.

For some background…

I designed my home in 1968, and because it was a ranch style home, with two floors,… I had already determined that a dumbwaiter would make a great addition.

Unfortunately, the builder placed some heating ducts directly in the way, and the dumbwaiter concept had to be abandoned.

My wife and I carted groceries between the lower garage and the kitchen area for the next 50 years. In that time three children appeared, and then grandchildren…

Then something unexpected happened,…. we both got old, and had to make a decision… we could no longer haul groceries, and must either fix the problem or find a new home.

It was decided to remodel and make room for a dumbwaiter… It was for us, a way of continuing to enjoy our home of 50 plus years… and the best part… was that it did just that.

The installation has worked perfectly, and makes a great addition to our home….

I would like to say that this was the happy ending of our story… but unfortunately, my wife past away after the project was completed and never got to enjoy the new toy.

The home will probably be listed for sale,… but the joy of having the original concept completed was still worth waiting for. It is a wonderful addition to our kitchen.

Larry and his staff are so [knowledgeable] and helpful. I have had my dumbwaiter for over 15 years, it has been reliable and such a blessing.

Recently we updated the electronics and safety features, but one small little door switch decided to fail. Larry walked me through the diagnostics and we were able to find the problem and fix it. I have and will continue to recommend the products.

Don’t be intimidated as the staff at Powerlift Dumbwaiters, Inc. are very helpful answering questions and offering suggestions during the build out (Especially Larry!). They have been helpful with a few maintenance questions over the years.

When you call a person, not a computer, says hello.

Our unit is still working very well, just as on the 1st day. It is very well built and I imagine it will work fine for the life of the house. We use it almost daily.

When I give a review sometimes, I ponder how many stars to give. This was an easy one. No question they deserve 5 stars!
